Okay, what's going on here?

Aug 7 2012: US Military to plan to fight the Civil War of 2016?
Aug 10 2012: U.S. regulators directed five of the country's biggest banks, including Bank of America Corp and Goldman Sachs Group Inc, to develop plans for staving off collapse if they faced serious problems, emphasizing that the banks could not count on government help.

(okay, the following are from infowars.com, so read the facts. any speculation is just that)
Aug 13 2012: DHS To Purchase Another 750 Million Rounds Of Ammo (another?)
Aug 14 2012: National Weather Service Follows DHS In Huge Ammo Purchase (Natl Weather Service? Really?)

Aug 15 2012: Social Security Administration To Purchase 174 Thousand Rounds Of Hollow Point Bullets ( Soc Security? Come on now. )
Alright, you don't need to be paranoid to think that something really scary messed-up is going on here.

Scenario: Obama steals the 2012 election, then refuses to leave 12 2016, activating heavily "extralegal" measures and claiming continuity of governance as the fig-leaf.

You've got to be kidding me.
Obama now wants to launch wave of nationalization of industries.

“I said, I believe in American workers, I believe in this American industry, and now the American auto industry has come roaring back,” he said. “Now I want to do the same thing with manufacturing jobs, not just in the auto industry, but in every industry.
“I don’t want those jobs taking root in places like China, I want those jobs taking root in places like Pueblo,” Obama told a crowd gathered for a campaign rally at the Palace of Agriculture at the Colorado State Fairgrounds here.
This is fascism disguised as patriotism.
The Obama campaign is becoming desperate, and promises benefits and fans class hatred to an excess  heretofore unseen from a presidential candidate (much less an incumbent).
His complete disregard for America, its foundations, institutions, and traditions is astounding, as is the eagerness with which that message is greeted, and by how many.
There is in a real sense a war being fought in America. It is a real war, but one that is fought on a largely nonphysical battlefield. It is a war to manipulate the Public Opinion.
The Republicans seem not to realize the nature of the situation.

Rush screws up (no, the other Rush)

Yeah, yeah, yeah, everybody's pissed-off at Rush Limbaugh. Fake-assed outrage and all that, blah blah blah.
But this article at The Daily really bummed me out.  Sure, the main point of the article is that David Axelrod can see fit to rip Romney for not condemning Limbaugh while at the sime time being sheduled to appear on Bill "Sarah Palin's a cunt" Maher's show. Bad ju-ju, that.
What really got under my skin, though, is the last sentence:
Late Tuesday, the 1970s rock band Rush demanded Limbaugh stop playing their music before and after commercial breaks. A lawyer for the band accused Limbaugh of “using Rush’s recorded music as part of what is essentially a political broadcast.”
This is really sad, considering the Objectivist nature of much of the band's earlier material.

Who are the politically homeless?

The Republican Party sucks.
The Democratic Party sucks almost infinitely worse.
The Libertarian Party shouldn't suck, but it has been subverted by the Green Weenies and the Open Borders loons.
The Tea Party showed promise, but:
1) it isn't a party as such and
2) it has already been perverted from being tightly focused on FIXING THE GODDAMNED BUDGET into a Glenn Beck fan club and Evangelical Tent Revival.
Being somewhere between libertarian conservative and conservative libertarian, I find myself disgusted with the current American political landscape and amazed that I can find nowhere to hang my hat politically.
If you feel the same way, then cop a squat next to the fire and warm yourself in the knowledge that you are not alone.
